Mariella Platner

Mariella Platner has been the Director of Human Resources for United Auburn Indian Community since 2015. She transitioned into this role from heading the Labor Relations for the Tribe’s Thunder Valley Casino Resort. Prior to that, she held HR and Safety leadership positions in the defense industry and with another Native American government.

Mariella has over 20 years of HR experience, spanning across three continents and several industries, from a major airline in Africa to a multinational retailer in Europe. Her professional interests and accomplishments are centered around labor relations, benefits management and collaborative talent mapping. In her current role, some of her core responsibilities involve safety planning and training, annual training on sexual harassment and workplace bullying prevention for Tribal Council, Tribal Committees and employees.

Mariella received her Senior Professional in Human Resources certification over 10 years ago, has a Master’s degree in HR Management from Sofia University St. Kl. Ohridski, and a BA in Tourism and Hospitality Management from the University of National and World Economy, in Sofia, Bulgaria.
